Exercise
Most women can exercise while pregnant, keep items in mind.
- Drink adequate fluids before, during and after exercise
- Avoid any contact sports such as soccer, volleyball, and activities which increase your risk of falling, such as horseback riding, bike riding, rollerblading and skiing
- Try not to get your pulse above 160
- Do not lay flat on your back after 20 weeks
Dental Care
It is important to maintain dental hygiene while pregnant. Cleanings, fillings, root canals, X-rays should and can be performed while pregnant. Local anesthesia is safe as well.
Sexual Activity
You may continue sexual activity while pregnant except in cases of bleeding, premature labor, or threatened miscarriage.
Travel
Travel is not recommended after 32 weeks because if you should have a problem, you may be forced to stay out of the area for a prolonged period of time. Any trip planned by car, plane..etc that lasts more than two hours should be interrupted by rest stops where you can stretch and move your legs.
Vaccines
An annual influenza vaccine is recommended for all pregnant women regardless of trimester. A booster of tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) is recommended for pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy.
